Me, too. I couldn't imagine a loving god doing something like that and also kill babies in the flood.
So, umm..."b.......f" means bugger off? It sounds so mild to my 'merican ears. Bloody's not bad, either.
Are you eyes burning?

(How) Does Truth Set Free?
by Narkissos in"the truth shall set you free" (cf.
john 8:32) is the kind of sentence that potentially transcends any contextual setting.
as we know only too well, it has been used over and over again in religious propaganda and is very easy to return against it (i.e.

When they said at meetings and assemblies that the truth shall set you free and the freedom lovers district convention emphasized it, I couldn't understand how it sets us free when we have so many rules to follow so as not to get df'd. I never felt free at all. I think they put it this way: you are free to worship Jehovah. Oh goody. I'm free to worship the way I hate worshipping and that worship toward a god that never talked to us. I hated it. It was confusing.

Cross is a pagan symbol, watchtower is a pagan symbol too
by Noelle inyou all jehovah witnesses that said jesus didn't die on a cross but on a stake your wrong because the romans were pagans and what better way to crucify someone than on a pagan symbol.
i have a fact that you need to listen to as well, the watchtower which you symbolize is a pagan symbol as well.
oh no how can that be you ask, well let me tell you.. in ceremonial magic and some traditions of wicca and neopaganism, the four cardinal points are believed to have spiritual guardians called watchtowers.

They are not just found on the WT. I've seen them on lapel cards, books, and a lot of things that Stoop's sells. The turret is just as much a WTS symbol as the cross is to churches.
Yes, it's found in the Bible, but so is Ba'al worship, although in a bad light. They avoid the cross although it is in other Bibles and found in paganism, but they use the WT and turret because it is found in the Bible. It also shows up brightly in paganism. So, my question is WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE? They are using it hypocritically hoping no one goes onto the internet and finds out what their true colors are.
They say we aren't to celebrate birthdays because of the pagan origins. Well, guess what, I'll bet you that Watchtower use in paganism predated the Bible. Oh, great. To really settle this, we will need to get into the original languages of which I have no interest to do. The word Watchtower might be translated differently, but if they mean the same thing, then there is one word and one meaning. Pagans had it first (I'll betcha) like everything else and the Christians stole it like they did Yule.

WT Wizard,
That is so true, all of it. Here is another thing they worship: penises. If one does not own one, there is no hope of getting anywhere in that religion. You can't do anything without one. They are viewed as the ticket to status and prestege. It's a status symbol. You are looked down on and mistreated and ignored if you don't have one. Might as well use a cross instead of a turret.

What is the problem with new age stuff?
by loosie inwhen i speak to some christians they seem to have a fear of things new age related.. i was speaking to three christians today who i thought are very rational.
i tolf them how my jw friend says the only good thing about getting older was that we are closer to the end of the world.
their response was well the bible says the world is gonna end.. then they started in about oprah endorsing these new age books ( a new earth by eckhart tolle) and how it is so wrong for her to do that.. i was giggling and i said yeah well some people think that obama is the antichrist lol.

We pagans are experiencing a revival, really. There is nothing new about new age. It just seems new.

I wouldn't say that I'm smarter than the others. I would say that I'm empowered and able to use more efficiently through practice the same thing they all have: A BRAIN CAPABLE OF LOGICAL REASONING. They are wasting theirs.
I would say, however, that I feel wiser than they are. I'm not dependent on others telling me what to think and what to do if this or that happens. I have to figure out my life myself on my terms. I get to learn from my mistakes and they don't so much.

Blondie's Comments You Will Not Hear at the 06-01-08 WT Study (VALUELESS)
by blondie inrepudiate "valueless things" .
does this mean that secular work done as to jehovah is part of our sacred service?.
may we always repudiate valueless words and cling to valuable words of truth.. ot example--moses.

And that normally a wife should stay at home and not get a job thing, well that just shows how out of touch with reality they are. Most people now need jobs to live.
And that wifely subjection crap, how many marriages have failed because the husband couldn't control his wife? He really tried to control her. He took things away from her like the checkbook and car keys, moved her away from friends and family, and forbade her from working. Boy oh boy did he try to exercise his god given headship, but she left him anyway. She is a poor example of a submissive Christian wife. She is a Jezabel!
Honestly, of the weddings I've gone to in my 37 years in the org, I know of NONE that survived. They ALL ended up in divorce, plus many marriages that already existed broke up. No, marriages don't work WTS style. They break up.
